Dance of the Sugar Plum Beatles

Here is a mashup of Eleanor Rigby and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. I have had this idea in my head for years now. Upon purchasing new orchestral sample libraries during the lockdowns, I felt inspired to bring the idea to life. It is uncanny how well the two pieces work together musically. Nothing from the original recordings was used. This is an original vocal and instrumental performance and arrangement of both pieces. John Scofield and his team of video editors at Scofield Digital Storytelling thought that a Covid theme for the video would be a good way to tell the story of the loneliness and alienation that has occurred in the world this year. Here’s to imagining a better new year!
